NT Connect install and terminate all types of fibre cabling, all across Ireland.
There are two basic types of fibre optic – Single and Multimode. Single Mode is used when even greater distances are necessary.
NT Connect focus on Multimode fibre optic cabling which is more commonly used for vertical (backbone) cabling in single-site business, education and administration environments. Fibre optic cabling can seem very confusing, not least because a number of different standards of cable and connections that have evolved over time. NT Connect typically install the following:
- Cable: Multimode Indoor/outdoor LSOH OM4 50/125
- Connectors: LC
- Couplers: LC – LC
Every core of every fibre is tested; NT Connect’s minimum test standard is the use of a light meter and power source to verify the installed fibre’s optical losses are within tolerance. More extensive testing is carried out using an Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), which provides a trace of the entire length of the fibre being tested.
It’s a known fact: optical network problems are often caused by dirty and/or damaged connectors. NT Connect with the use of the latest digital fibre inspection probes can ensure that connectors/adapters are clean and exempt of any defects.
Should you encounter an issue with your fibre infrastructure, NT Connect engineers have both the skills and the tools to rapidly identify the location of the fault, and to rectify it in the shortest possible time.
